Chinese Immersion Program (CIP)
中文沉浸班
The Chinese Immersion Program (CIP) at Elder Creek Elementary School creates an interactive and engaging learning environment where students will achieve bilingual proficiency in both English and Chinese. Students will reach high levels of academic achievement in both languages and become cross-cultural ambassadors for our school, community, and society. The program uses an immersion method of instruction in which English-speaking students and Chinese-speaking students are placed together in the same class. Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) Program
Gifted students are clustered with other GATE students in a general education classroom. GATE classes are taught by teachers who have completed their SCUSD GATE Certificate.
Transitional Kindergarten (TK)
Transitional Kindergarten (TK) is a stepping stone between preschool and kindergarten. The optional program provides students with an additional year of preparation, so they enter kindergarten with stronger academic, social, and emotional skills needed for future success in school.
To be eligible to register for transitional kindergarten for Fall 2024, children must be five years old September 2, 2024, through June 2, 2025.
After School Care Program
Elder Creek’s After School program is provided by Sacramento Chinese Community Service Center (SCCSC) through SCUSD’s Expanded Learning Program. Please contact Nancy Phu at (916) 896-9870 with questions about the program.
All Expanded Learning Programs begin serving students when the regular school day ends (including minimum days). The programs operate until 6 p.m. daily providing students with more than 15 hours of Expanded Learning programming every week.
